11/10/2011: Inaugural Planning Meeting

Following the general invitation at the initial public information meeting, over 30 people attended the inaugural planning meeting. The committee was elected, and it was agreed that a request be sent out to all community and town councils to join and provide representation as Regional Liason Officers on the campaign committee.

30/9/2011: Public Information Meeting

Almost 800 people attended the public information meeting in the Skibbereen West Cork Hotel on 30/9/2011. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Frank Fahy and representatives of the Skibbereen council, and the audience was informed of the planned cuts.

There was common agreement across all of those who attended that the cuts should be opposed, and it was agreed that a campaign committee would be formed in order to develop a campaign strategy. A general invitation was expressed to all present to become part of the committee.
