Dear Minister,

Further to my letter of 4th October re. Curtailment of Ambulance service in West Cork.

At a meeting last night of over thirty representatives of the 700+ people who attended the Public meeting on the 30th September, I was asked to write to you again to clearly impress on you the urgency which we feel this matter should receive.

I was asked to request you to respond to our last letter by Wednesday next, 19th October at which point we will be progressing our campaign by contacting national media, re-invigorating our street and online petition and pressing our West Cork Deputies and Senator to withdraw their support from all Health Department Dail votes until we receive assurances from you, that the Ambulance Service in the West Cork area will be maintained at current levels.

It has also been brought to my attention that the HSE proposals for West Cork area are in direct conflict with HIQA recommendations on response times for vehicles with patient-carrying capacity for almost the entire region.

Yours sincerely,

Frank Fahy

Mayor
Skibbereen Town Council
